I know someone is thinking, "That's not a bad habit."
Trust me, with modeling it can be a horrible habit.
Once you save you can't usually go back to a point before you hit save.
And sometimes you save something .... horrible.
So knowing I have this habit. I decided to do things a little differently.
Sound horrible already?
I decided to every now and then do a Save as..
It would have been great but I had decided to quickly Save as... over the old file, selected the wrong file and overwrote a model I finished.
Remember my lion. She was done. She had a partially open mouth, nostrils, eyes, toes...
Wiped out with one careless Save As...
I would've totally been depressed if I didn't find a backup file of the above image. Of course without the open mouth, eyes, toes, claws, nostrils... and other finishing touches.
So at that point I was only frustrated enough to bang my head into the wall several times and take it as a sign from God to just use the leopard.
So things should've been moving right along..... right??????????
Wrong.
My goal was to have David clothed and animated by the end of the week.
He needs 6 animations:
- walk
- run
- attack 1 with staff
- attack 2 with slingsot
- heal sheep
- call sheep
Then Blender froze...
I thought about continuing relentlessly through the weekend... but seriously. My work PC froze.
It has 12 GB of RAM.
How could I possibly do any better at home?
Everybody was really impressed at how David was coming out before the freeze.
But frankly after the freeze, I decided I need the weekend to recuperate.
