About the Game "Send me David"

David is an RPG game that runs alongside the biblical stories of David as he grows up.  Game purpose is to become King of Israel.

The protagonist is a shepherd boy, the youngest of seven. The prophet Samuel selects him to be the next king after the death of Saul.  He is an acclaimed warrior, musician and poet.  Through his youth he would fend off wolves and lions from his sheep using a sling, which he later notably kills Goliath (first Major Boss fight).

The main character at game start is a teenager.  After each battle something of David’s physical stature or appearance will change.  David is a lady’s man, extremely flirtatious.  He’s an extravert.  As the game is played, the character will become more adept at various skills that will help him network and open up other aspects of the game.  He will also collect items that he can use to improve skills, HP/RP, and network.

Skill Levels:

  1. Shepherd, keep flock together while fending off wild animals.  Wild animals upon defeat drop items (random based on animal). After each major battle flock will drop item (in accordance with flock guarded. Ex. Sheep will drop wool or lamb meat. At some point, has enough material that Father will collect items and tell him how to make slingshot. Until then he will throw rocks with lower attack. Fishing. Smoke out Bees.
  2. Alter Boy. It will be a lengthy skill level.  During his battles, he will have to get items and bring them back to the Church.  The items will be based on varying sacrifices (Ex. Grain Offering, Sin Offering) Once acquired the priest will give David either a prayer or song [(useful for power-ups(curses and blessings), added RP/HP, LP/FP points(to not be so Rune Factory can call them Camaraderie Points)] Song requires instrument
  3. Musician and dancing, Requires song and instrument. Used to (defense)tame the beasts, appease kings and ladies. (Also a continual skill level).  (Basically a timed typing challenge to use songs and prayers)
  4. Cook (continual skill level) David has to prepare food to recover RP (days sleep does not heal RP, church attendance heals both RP/HP) Uses drop items from shepherding. Will have to prepare specialty items for brothers.
  5. Messenger, is when father sends David to deliver messages and food to brothers in battles. He will have to fight to get to them (men and beasts).  Both will drop items, but David will start to acquire more metals and coins from men. Does not acquire actual weaponry from men.  Certain weapons are dropped by bosses. (Ex. Goliath drops sword)
  6. Smithery (Requires items) most items will not be dropped until Messenger level.  David will be able to pay to use blacksmith forge and create his own weapons.
  7. Battles. (Acquires fighting attacks after each battle and items during battles) Each Battle Opens a female character and several male characters who David needs to woo and some stuff (rare items)
  8. Camaraderie (Networking) Open characters and build friendships, your eventual army through prayer, music, test battles (between men), food, and favors (deliver items to other characters). Certain things will give negative points. Most things will give negative points to Saul because he is meant to hate you.  Every battle you win and woman you woo after you leave the Saul’s kingdom will incur negative points with Saul’s daughter, which cannot be regained.

For This Class I will be working on Skill Level 1.  When David is a boy, his chore is to be a shepherd for his father.  I have to create David and his animations.  The character will be created using MakeHuman.

I will try to work on two types of wild animals the lion and the wild dog and of course the sheep.

The game will be using a third-person perspective and created using Unity.
